DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL TIMES
Buses are considered late if the vehicle has not arrived within 10 minutes after the scheduled departure or estimated arrival time.
REOPENING OF SCHOOLS
Please note that Monday bus schedules are always followed when schools reopen after holidays or long weekends, regardless of which day of the week the school reopens.
Parents/guardians will be notified at least three days in advance if this rule is to be deviated from.
EXAMINATIONS
The route schedule for each examination will be posted as soon as the examination timetable is available.
It is very important that parents/guardians take note that no learner will be allowed on any vehicle unless they are registered for that specific route.
Registration of learners for the use of Merensky Transport is done exclusively through the required online registration form.

DEREGISTRATION / CANCELLATION
Deregistration/cancellation for the use of Merensky Transport must be submitted by email at least 30 days before the learner’s intended last trip, addressed to Ms Aletta Steyn at vervoer@hsmerensky.co.za.
Payment is due on the following 2026 dates: 3 January, 6 February, 6 March, 3 April, 8 May, 5 June (for June and July), 7 August, 4 September, 9 October and 6 November (for November and December). Learners will not be allowed to board the bus if payments are not made on the respective dates.
Fees are payable via the Karri platform. Karri is a mobile payment application that allows you to make quick payments for school events.
TO GET STARTED:
Download the Karri app from your Play Store or App Store onto your smartphone.
Open the app and tap on Sign Up.
Enter your email address (this must be the same email address the school uses to communicate with you), choose a password, and add a few personal details. You will then see any outstanding payments on the home screen:
Pay your outstanding payments by adding a card or topping up your wallet.
To update your card details or top up your wallet, click on your wallet and select My Karri Wallet.
You can top up your wallet using your card or by using the direct EFT i-Pay feature to make payments. This will take you to your online banking platform, allowing you to transfer funds from your account to your Karri wallet.
OR
You can add your bank card (debit or credit card) by clicking on Add A Card.
Description: Anything that will help you identify it, e.g. Standard Bank debit card, or your name.
Card Number: as it appears on the front of your card (NOT your account number).
Expiry Date: On the front of your card, you will find an expiry date.
CVV: 3-digit number on the back of your card.
NEXT:
The card has now been successfully added.
Once the payment has been completed successfully, the user can choose to request a payment receipt:
Select “Transactions” at the bottom of the app screen.
Click on the payment for the event.
The payment confirmation screen will appear. Now click on “Email my receipt.”
You will then receive an email as proof of payment. Use the payment confirmation as proof of payment or as a bus ticket, either as a screenshot on the learner’s phone or as a printed copy.
The use of Merensky High School transport is a privilege. Merensky bus drivers carry great responsibility when transporting learners and/or staff.
Unnecessary noise and inappropriate behaviour by passengers can distract the driver and endanger the safety of everyone in the vehicle, as well as other road users.
Appropriate conduct is expected from learners and staff when making use of Merensky transport.
Failure to comply with the expected behaviour may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of transport privileges.
The Merensky Agricultural Academy Code of Conduct applies at all times. Breaches of school rules may lead to disciplinary action and suspension of bus services.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
The following behaviour is expected of learners at all times:
Learners must always follow the driver’s instructions.
Learners must wait in an orderly queue and avoid pushing while waiting for the driver’s signal to board.
Learners must proceed directly to an available or assigned seat.
Aisles and exits must be kept clear at all times (bags should be kept on the learner’s lap or placed under the seat).
Learners must remain seated until instructed by the driver to leave the bus.
Learners must maintain classroom-type behaviour at all times.
Learners must refrain from throwing or passing objects into or out of buses.
Learners may not make or shout remarks at pedestrians or other road users under any circumstances.
Learners may not use foul language, make inappropriate gestures, or use tobacco, drugs, or any prohibited substances on the bus.
Learners must refrain from eating and drinking on the bus.
Learners must respect the rights and safety of other learners.
Learners may not board or disembark from buses anywhere other than at designated stops.
Learners are expected to speak to one another in an acceptable, normal manner during trips. Noise levels must be kept reasonable to prevent the driver from being distracted (drivers must be able to hear outside noises such as emergency vehicle sirens. Excessive noise inside the bus can impair the driver’s ability to hear and reduce reaction time in an emergency).
UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR
The following will be regarded as unacceptable behaviour:
Failure to remain seated at all times.
Throwing objects out of the windows.
Playing loud music.
Making remarks to pedestrians or other road users from inside the bus.
Allowing clothing or body parts to hang out of the window.
