MERENSKY ARCHERS EXCEL AT TRIPLE CROWN LEG 1

Merensky Agricultural Academy’s archery team participated in the first leg of the Triple Crown series on the 1st and 2nd of February. The competition took place over two days at Wildcrete 3D Targets in Pretoria. Despite windy conditions, participants were grateful that no rain disrupted the event.

The Merensky archers achieved outstanding results, showcasing their provincial-level skills:

• Rouxné Schnettler secured first place with both a Protea and a provincial qualification.

• Zelke Kruger finished in second place and earned one provincial qualification.

• Izelri Theron claimed third place.

• Henk Meyer achieved second place with two provincial qualifications.

• Christiaan finished in third place with two provincial qualifications.

• Nathan Swanepoel and Tommie Strydom each earned one provincial qualification.

The Merensky Archery Team participated in the Limpopo North Indoor Provincial Competition on the farm on 7 and 8 February 2025, achieving good results.

HENK MEYER BLINK UIT BY MPUMALANGA FIELD BOOGSKIET

Vier skuts van Merensky Landbou Akademie het op 15 en 16 Februarie hul merk gemaak tydens die Mpuma-langa Field-kompetisie wat by die Yokol Adventure Camp in Nylstroom gehou is. Die Plasies het met indrukwekkende uitslae teruggekeer en nasionale kwalifiserende tellings aangeteken.

In die Junior Female Bowhunter Unlimited-afdeling het Carli Smit haar uitstekende skietvernuf gewys deur die eersteplek te behaal.

Die Junior Male Bowhunter Unlimited-afdeling was ‘n ware vertoning van Merensky-oorheersing. Henk Meyer het nie net die eersteplek verower nie, maar ook twee nasionale kwalifiserende tellings behaal. Christiaan Loots het tweede geeïndig, ook met 2 nasionaal kwalifiserende tellings, en Nathan Swanepoel was in die derdeplek met 1 nasionaal kwalifiserende telling.

MERENSKY ARCHERY EXCELS AT LIMPOPO SOUTH FIELD COMPETITION

Thabazimbi Archery Club - 1 & 2 March 2025

Merensky Agricultural Academy's archery team showcased their talent at the Limpopo South Field Provincial Competition, held at the Thabazimbi Archery Club on 1 and 2 March 2025, once again proving why they are considered one of the top archery schools in South Africa.

Merensky is proud of its three representatives:

• Henk Meyer secured first place and achieved two national qualifying scores of 534 and 526.

• Christiaan Loots finished in second place with two national qualifying scores and personal best scores of 515 and 522.

• Nathan Swanepoel recorded scores of 484 and 479, earning his final provincial qualifying score for provincial colors.

With such impressive performances, it is clear that Merensky’s archery team continues to make a mark in the South African archery community. This competition was an important milestone for the athletes on their journey toward further national and provincial successes.

Congratulations to Henk, Christiaan, and Nathan for their outstanding achievements. Merensky is proud of you and looks forward to many more victories in the future!

MERENSKY ARCHERS EXCELL AT SANIFAA 3D ​​LEAGUE IN MOKOPANE

Merensky Agricultural Academy’s archers participated in the Sanifaa 3D League competition held at Shikwaru Lodge in Mokopane on 15 and 16 March 2025. The challenging course provided excellent preparation for the archers who will compete in the 3D World Championships at the end of April.

The Plasie archers made their mark with excellent performances and an impressive medal haul. Two of Merensky’s talented archers, Henk Meyer and Nathan Swanepoel, secured their national qualifications.

CHAMPION ARCHERS SHOW THEIR AIM IN MODIMOLLE

Three archers from Merensky Agricultural Academy showed their mettle during the SANIFAA Field National Championships, held from 21 to 23 March at Camp Yakol in Modimolle. The competition was tough, but the Plasies excelled with great performances!

🎯 Henk Meyer achieved first place and also shot two national qualifying scores.
🎯 Christiaan Loots took second place, also with two national qualifying scores.
🎯 Nathan Swanepoel achieved fourth place with two provincial qualifying scores.

With these results behind them, the focus now shifts to the international stage – the 2025 IFAA World Bowhunter Championship (WBHC) which will be presented from 27 April to 4 May at Elgro River Lodge in Potchefstroom. This is a big opportunity and our shooters are already working hard to be ready.

MERENSKY ARCHERS SHINE IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PREPARATION TOURNAMENT

CULLINAN — Five archers from Merensky Agricultural Academy took part in the SANIFAA World Bowhunter Preparation Tournament on 12 and 13 April 2025 at the Cullinan Archery Club in Cullinan as part of their build-up to the upcoming World Bowhunter Championship later this month.

The course was challenging and unfamiliar territory for all the Plasie archers, but despite this test, they still achieved excellent scores.
